The organization's secretary and main inspiration, Mr. Bhoomiputra Wagh, is a passionate and devoted grassrootslevel social activist. His social involvement began with "Marathwada Lok Vikas Manch." He was in charge of organizing women, running credit societies, organizing street plays, and conducting awareness campaigns at the village level. He actively participated in relief and recovery efforts during and after the Latur earthquake. He founded the Samaj Vikas Sanstha organization in 1996 after becoming concerned about the suffering of the area's poor, backward, and tribal people, particularly the Lamanis (a nomadic tribe).
